Save the Date for the Annual Art Show at BCES on March 23rd from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A virtual art show is scheduled for March 16th through March 28th. Parents can purchase art created by their students during those dates and times. The link and QR Code are listed on the flier.

The following students received the honor of being rewarded B.C.E.S. Student of the Month for February. These students have exemplified being responsible, showing ownership for their actions, being respectful, showing kindness, and being great role models!

Maddie Chandler, a 4th-grade student at BCES, represented the Banks County School System in the District Spelling Bee on Saturday, February 25th.

Maddie was a finalist at Banks County Elementary School.

Two teachers from each school received a Random Acts of Kindness Gift from the Banks County Chamber last week to help celebrate World Kindness Day on February 17th.

Winners included Stacy Hobson and Regina Smith from Banks County Primary School. Emily Peek and Christy Pruitt from Banks County Elementary School.
Julie Parker and Jennifer Fitzgerald from Banks County Middle School. Curtis Chitwood and Heather Martin from Banks County High School.

The purpose of the Young Georgia Authors (YGA) writing competition is to encourage students to develop an enthusiasm for and expertise in their writing, to provide a context to celebrate their writing successes, and to recognize student achievement in arts and academics. This prestigious competition has been engaging Georgia students for more than two decades and is open to any student currently enrolled in Georgia public schools, grades K-12. The competition is sponsored by the Georgia Language Arts Supervisors (GLAS) and the Georgia RESA Network with support from the Georgia Department of Education.

Banks County Elementary School students received the honor of being named January Student of the Month. These students have shown characteristics of responsibility, respectfulness, kindness, and great attitudes! We are so proud of our students!
