Mrs. Stroud has been recognized as the Outstanding Curriculum and Instruction Student of the Year for the 2024-2025 academic year. This honor was awarded by the professors and program directors of the Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction program at the University of North Georgia (UNG), where she has been pursuing her Master’s degree this year. Stroud received this accolade at the 2025 UNG Awards Ceremony, where she was personally congratulated by the Dean of the College of Education and the university president.

The Banks County High School football program has launched a new initiative to support young athletes in the community by offering free Youth Speed and Agility Training sessions. These sessions are open to all interested students and provide an opportunity to improve athletic performance while connecting with the high school program.

Banks County Primary, Middle, and High Schools will observe the celebration from May 5–9, while Banks County Elementary School will celebrate May 12–16 to accommodate state testing schedules.

Banks County School System recently celebrated its annual Special Olympics, known as “the Best Day of the Year,” with over 80 student-athletes participating in track and field events and activities at the Special Olympics Village. The event was made possible through strong support from families, staff, and numerous community sponsors, creating a day filled with joy, encouragement, and celebration.
