Banks County Schools’ Leopard Tracks Program Featured by Teach in the Peach

Started by Superintendent Michael Williams to support teacher retention, Leopard Tracks helps educators new to the district feel connected, prepared, and supported. The program begins with a full day of paid summer training covering district resources, school culture, technology, behavior strategies, and teaching strategies.

Support continues throughout the school year. Each new teacher is paired with a district leader for individual guidance and one-on-one visits, adding another connection alongside the teacher’s school-level mentor.

Teacher feedback also shapes the program. Surveys and individual conversations have led to additions such as the Teacher Hub, which brings digital resources and school-specific materials into one accessible location. The district also added specialized training in behavior techniques in response to teachers’ needs.

Banks County Schools appreciates Teach in the Peach for showcasing this work and the district leaders, school-level mentors, and teachers who make Leopard Tracks possible. Investing in teachers helps build strong classrooms and meaningful learning experiences for students.
