Welcome back, BCES families! We are off to a fantastic start for the 2026–2027 school year, and Principal Dr. Leigh Ann Perry and our dedicated staff are excited to work together with you to ensure your child has a wonderful educational experience.
Here is what you need to know for the month of August and beyond:
Free Daily Meals The Banks County School System offers healthy meals every school day at no charge to your child, supported by the USDA through the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs.

Governance Team Nominations Open BCES is currently accepting nominations for one parent/guardian member to serve a two-year term on the Governance Team.

Deadline: Friday, August 14, 2026, by 3:00 PM
- Election: August 20

Requirements: Nominees must have a child enrolled at BCES during the 2026–2027 school year and must complete an application and a background check.

How to Nominate: Email the nominee’s name directly to Dr. Perry.

Key Operational & Safety Reminders

Parent Pick-Up (PPU): Please do not arrive before 2:30 PM (when gates open). A school-issued name card must be visible in your vehicle.

Check-Outs: Early check-outs for appointments must be completed by 2:30 PM.

Transportation Changes: Send a note to the office or call before 2:00 PM. If a student is riding a different bus or going home with another student, written notes are required (including parent approval from both families for playdates).

Afterschool Care: YMCA offers an afterschool program; call 770-297-9622 for details.
