Monday, August 21st is the day of the Solar Eclipse. In an effort to allow our students to view this event in its completion and safely, we will extend the school day by 30 minutes. The school system has purchased approved safety glasses for all students and staff.
Please know that we considered a variety of options with regard to this day and whether to cancel school, release early, etc. In the end, we recognized that some of our students might not have adequate supervision, safety glasses, or the opportunity to witness this once-in-a-lifetime event without being at school. This will be the first time since 1918 that a total solar eclipse will sweep across the whole width of the United States. We thank you for supporting us as we take this opportunity to provide a remarkable educational experience for our students.

Thank you for taking the time to consider the safety & caring for our children. As well as making learning fun. My 3rd grader is having a blast.
