What is Random Acts of Kindness Week?
It is a week about being INTENTIONALLY kind... going out of your way to find ways to be kind to each other. Each day has a theme...
Manners Monday- encourage students to say "please" or "thank you" or hold the door open for someone.
Thank-you Tuesday- this day is to focus on letting people know how much we appreciate them. Have students write a note to a teacher, parapro, custodian, cafeteria worker, or one of our office staff.
What Can I do to Help? Wednesday- encourage students to look for ways to help others without being asked... like picking up after themselves in the lunchroom, clean up the classroom, helping a friend with an assignment, etc.
Thoughtful Thursday- Do something that makes someone else feel good like give a compliment, draw someone a picture, bring your teacher his/her favorite drink.
Friendship Friday- challenge your students to talk to someone they don't normally talk to.
Take a few minutes each morning and talk with your children about the theme for each day and things they can do within their school related to the theme. The teachers/staff will also be teaching and encouraging students each day. Thank you for helping us have such good citizens here at Banks County Elementary!
