Congratulations to Mrs. Kim Harris, BCES School Nurse, as the recipient of the 2018 Philip Wright Award, representing the Banks County School System. She along with other award recipients within the northeast Georgia region, were recognized at the 17th Annual Philip Wright Awards Ceremony. Mrs. Nancy Bentley, BCES School Principal, stated, "She has a heart and special bond for students with disabilities and will stop at nothing to support them." The Philip Wright Award recognizes individuals for their service, commitment and advocacy of children with disabilities. The award honors the legacy created by Mr. Wright, highlighting his commitment to improving educational services for students with disabilities in school districts within the Pioneer RESA region. The award is presented to individuals, such as Nurse Kim, who exemplify service, a deep respect, and regard for students with disabilities. Anyone who knows Nurse Kim is aware of her deep commitment to all students, her kind heart, and her willingness to do whatever is needed to meet student needs. Banks County Elementary staff and students are proud to have Nurse Kim as a part of our community and are very aware of her worthiness for this award. Congratulations Nurse Kim on this honor!
