With the help of our Digital Learning Specialist, Chris Fuller, 4th grade students created a town in Minecraft Education using our Geometry standards. They used their knowledge of geometric figures, types of lines, and types of angles to create their towns.
4th grade students in Mrs. Dickey's class used Makey Makey to create a piano out of bananas. Students learned about conductive materials and how to use them to create a complete circuit.
5th graders in Mrs. Dickey's class used other conductive materials like play-doh and tin foil to learn about circuits.
5th graders learned about open and closed circuits as Mr. Fuller, our digital learning specialist, worked with students designing cards that actually lit up.
Today, 4th grade students were visited by our Georgia House of Representative Chris Erwin. Mr. Erwin spoke with the students about government at the state level and what he does as a representative. Students learned how he works with both federal and local level governments to provide the best for the people in his district. Thank you for visiting, Mr. Erwin!
Thank you to Brittany Purcell and Associates for providing treats for our teachers and care packages for students in need.
3rd grade students spent the week learning about the types of snow crystals and the unique nature of snowflakes. Then, they completed a STEM project by designing types of snowflakes and creating them using marshmallows and toothpicks. Great job 3rd grade!
