Javon Robinson, in Mrs. Millwood's homeroom, is the Bus Rider of the Month for September! He won some awesome prizes for being a great example to others on the bus. His bus driver, Mr. Rickey Baker, won free pizzas and a free breakfast at Chick Fil A!!
These students were the overall Leopard Buck Winners for the month of September! Leopard bucks are given out by faculty members to students who go above and beyond the behavioral expectations at BCES. Our behavior motto is, "All day every day, remember, a Leopard always ROARS!" This means that our students are Respectful, show Ownership for their actions, have a positive Attitude, are Responsible, and are Safe.
Congratulations to Casey Moon, Zoey Carroll, and Emma Dale for being a positive example for others at school!
On Thursday, the 4th grade students at BCES visited Young Harris College. The field trip was sponsored by Gilreath Trucking, Inc. The students viewed Earth, Moon, & Sun in Rollins Planetarium. They were able to explore the relationship between the Earth, Moon and Sun with the help of Coyote, an amusing character adapted from Native American traditions. Students learned why the Sun rises and sets and the basics of solar energy. They also examined the Moon’s orbit, craters, phases and eclipses. Young Harris student volunteers led BCES on a tour of the campus as well. Our BCES students were very well behaved and asked some very good questions!
5th grade students from Mrs. Carnes' class created 3-D plant and animal cells in our new STEM Lab.
The AT&T Pioneers delivered dictionaries to our 3rd grade students today! AT&T Pioneers is a network of volunteers who effect immediate, tangible change in local communities. This is the 10th year the group has given dictionaries to BCES Students! We are thankful for our community support!
Today was Leopard Buck cash in day at BCES! These students earned lunch with a friend and were able to celebrate today. Congratulations to all of the students who are showing that Leopards always ROAR!
