Our 3rd grade students were studying heat last week. They were asked to create a hot dog cooker with their family, then they were able to bring the finished product and complete an experiment in which they cooked hot dogs and smores!

It's not too late for 5th grade students to sign up for Music Makers! Music Makers is a music club sponsored by Mrs. Hinton. They meet after school each Thursday until 5:00 and dive deeper into areas of music that there isn't time for in the regular connections class. The first meeting will be on September 1 in the BCES music room. Sign up at https://goo.gl/forms/czutAWT8cLnDDy8A3
Or contact Mrs. Hinton for a paper copy. For more info visit her website at melaniehinton.weebly.com. We would like to send a BIG THANK YOU to our community for donating school supplies. Pictured with Mrs. Bentley is Dr. Mike Boyle bringing donations from the local masonic lodge. We have also received donations from Family Connection and Commerce United Methodist Church. We appreciate you all for thinking of our students at BCES!
BCES administration met with students today to discus expectations and the Big 3: Attendance, Behavior, and Effort! Students learned about all of the prizes they can earn for good attendance, great behavior, and effort in academics. It's a great day to be a Leopard at Banks County Elementary School!
BCES would like to welcome our new teachers! From left: Emily Peek, Art; Taylor Gilleland, 5th Grade ELA; Taylor McGilvray, PE; Penny Elrod, 3rd Grade Math; Anna Jordan, Counselor
We are extremely excited about the 2016-2017 school year! BCES faculty and staff are looking forward to meeting all of our students on Wednesday, August 3 from 4-6 p.m!
