Getting Ready for the MAIN EVENT
We will be hosting a parent night to provide more information on the Georgia Milestones Assessment. We encourage you to attend on April 14th at 5:30pm to learn more about this assessment.
The Georgia Milestones Assessment will be administered April 21st through April 27th to all students in grades 3-5. The Georgia Milestones measures how well students have learned the knowledge and skills outlined in the state-adopted content standards in language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. This year, in grades three and five, the Georgia Milestones results inform promotion/retention decisions in the areas of reading for 3rd graders and reading and mathematics for 5th graders. If needed, students would be given a retest opportunity in the summer.
We refer to this end of the year test as the “Main Event” at BCES. Teachers are preparing students daily for this end of the year assessment.
