We have been able to secure a few hotspots throughout the county if your student is in need to connect for a short period to access Google Classroom or upload assignments. We realize the obstacle many of our families face with the lack of reliable internet accessibility. We are extremely appreciative of the willingness of these entities to support our students and community during this time. Please be respectful of these locations when utilizing the hotspot service.

Banks County School System will be offering a virtual learning option for the upcoming semester. If you are interested in this option for your student, please watch the posted video from your child's school regarding the requirements and expectations. After viewing the video, please reach out to your student's school by Friday, December 11, to set up a meeting to discuss whether this is the best option for your student and sign a contract for the full spring semester (January through May).
Congratulations to our very own Dr. Fuschetti for being named the GA DNR 2020-21 Conservation Teacher of the Year Grant Winner!
As a third grade STEAM teacher, Dr. Fuschetti will receive $1000 from TERN (DNR Wildlife Conservation Friends Group) to implement her “Learning in the Lab of Life” project this school year! Per her grant proposal, third-grade students at Banks County Elementary will create a garden for wildlife that will serve as an outdoor classroom for the entire school. After learning about habitat requirements, the third-graders will collaboratively investigate which wildlife currently use the site. Data from winter months will be compared to findings in the spring. Based on their research and observations, students will determine ways to improve the habitat. Native plants and grasses as well as birdhouses and feeders will likely be added. We are so very proud of you and all you do for our students at Banks County Elementary School! |
